When ordering heating oil, the biggest question is when will it arrive? You've parted with your hard-earned cash, so it's only right to ask when you'll get your delivery. In winter, this becomes even more important. In most areas of the UK, you'll see 3 categories of delivery option; standard, express and emergency, here's what they mean.

Express delivery

Express means faster! If you need your oil quickly or prefer not to wait then this is the option for you. With 5, 3 and 2 day options you'll always have an option to get your oil exactly when you need it:

  • Express 5 - The supplier will deliver your oil within 5 working days of your order date.
  • Express 3 - The supplier will deliver your oil within 3 working days of your order date.
  • Express 2 - The supplier will deliver your oil within 2 working days of your order date.

As long as you order before 3pm, the delivery dates above will be met, or beaten! Often, express delivery prices are quite close to standard, so you can get your oil sooner for a small additional cost.

Standard

When you order before 3pm, our standard delivery option typically delivers your oil within 10 working days. After this time, the 10 days starts from the next working day. We'll always show you the correct 'on or before date' on your quote results. Our standard option also qualifies for grouping.

Grouping is when your order enters our 'auction' for suppliers to bid their best prices. Whoever has the best price in your area when the auction closes, wins the auctions. Grouping means suppliers can organise their delivery routes in an efficient way to deliver a larger quantity in one trip. This helps them to lower their cost of delivery and as a result, offer lower prices. Savings are passed on to you, so you'll always pay the best price in your area. So far we've saved customers over £250,000 this year alone!

Emergency

Emergency delivery option is for exactly that, if you need your oil the next working day, we can help. Providing you order your oil before 3pm, you'll get your delivery the next working day.

We always recommend keeping an eye on your oil level, so you order at the right time and don’t run out. If you do, this can often mean a call to an engineer to restart your boiler.

Never run out of oil again

Keeping track of usage and oil levels can be a pain in our busy lives. By choosing Connected, you’ll always have oil in your tank as we order it for you! You’re still in complete control and can monitor your oil level in our Connected app.
