Does my oil tank base meet current safety regulations?

It is very important that the base of your oil tank supports the tank fully.

If an oil delivery driver considers your base unsafe, they might refuse to deliver your oil.

Your tank base does not meet current standards unless it:

*     is at lease 4.2cm thick, if made from paving stones or stonework.  Concrete bases must be at least 10cm thick.

*     totally covers the base of the tank and is A minimum of 30cm larger that the tank on each of the four sides

*     Made from a non-flammable material, such as concrete, brick or paving slaps

If you are concerned that the base of your tank is unstable/not supported fully or does not meet current regulations, you should contact an OFTEC registered technician or ask one of our team for more information.
